The Indian government ​has said that it will impose anti-dumping duties (ADDs) on acetone imports from Saudi Arabia and Taiwan, according to a report published on the ICIS website.


A memorandum issued by the Indian government on Wednesday said a protective tariff of $133 per ton will be levied on cargoes coming into the country from Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC). Meanwhile, a protective tariff ranging between $86 and $205 per ton will be imposed on Taiwanese exporters.

These ADDs will be enforced later on, pending the final approval of India’s Customs, ICIS added.

SABIC, through its 35 percent-owned Saudi Kayan, is the sole producer of acetone in the Middle East. Acetone is mainly used in polycarbonate manufacturing.
