Emirates just responded to the US electronics ban with this playful ad

Dubai-based carrier Emirates has sent out a playful ad in response to the recent electronics ban on all US-bound passenger flights from Dubai International Airport.

The directive, issued by US President Donald Trump’s administration earlier this week, places a ban on several electronic devices, including laptops, on flights coming in from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and at least six other countries in the Middle East.

The New York Times recently reported that US intelligence received a tip that Daesh terrorists are developing bombs hidden in portable electronics, and that this may have the reason behind the latest announcement.

Emirates president Tim Clark recently told CNN, however, that Dubai’s Airport is as safe as any other in Asia, Europe, or the Americas.

Fast-growing airlines in the Gulf, such as Etihad and Emirates, have been luring away passengers from US carriers with their wide range of services and flight schedules. The ban is likely to force several business travelers that would've picked Gulf carriers for comfort and luxury in the past to choose American airlines in order to be able to use their electronic devices, it was reported.
