Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) awarded Singapore-based Changi Airport Group a 20-year contract to operate Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA), Saudi transport minister, Suleiman Al Hamdan, said on Sunday.

No further details were disclosed about the contract value.

Changi, which operates almost 20 international airports worldwide, will begin operations at the airport within four weeks.

Meanwhile, Al Hamdan added that KAIA expansion was 88 percent complete, expecting construction works to be completed as scheduled and trial operations to begin by mid-2018.
