Two policemen were injured when a bomb exploded in the town of Awamiya in Qatif, eastern Saudi Arabia, state news agency SPA reported on Tuesday, citing an interior ministry spokesperson.
The officers were both rushed to the hospital, and authorities have begun an investigation, it was reported.
The attack on Monday was the second one in two weeks, after a soldier was killed and five others were injured when a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at their patrol in Awamiya.
Saudi authorities have been demolishing old buildings in Awamiya, as part of plans to build a modern district with shopping centers, office buildings and green spaces.
