Saudi German Hospital plans to invest more than $1 bln in Egypt

Middle East Healthcare Co. (Saudi German Hospital) is planning to invest more than $1 billion in Egypt to build 10 medical cities and hospitals, Al-Hayat newspaper reported, citing ‎the group’s CEO, Mohamed Hablas.

In addition to these investments, the company is still working on building an international medical city in Egypt’s North Coast, with investments exceeding $660 million, he said. The medical city is set to open its doors in 2019.

Chairman Sobhi Batterjee is still negotiating with the Egyptian government to build three medical cities: one in Giza on 17.5 acres with a total cost of $ 55.1 million; the second in Ismailia; and the third in the Asyut governorate, Hablas said.

These investments are part of the company’s expansion plans to boost medical tourism and the healthcare sector in Egypt and the Middle East, he added.
