The UAE Ministry of Energy on Sunday announced the fuel prices for August, raising the cost across all grades.
Starting August 1, Super 98 will cost AED 1.89 per liter (up 1.6 percent from July), Special 95 will cost AED 1.78 per liter (up 1.7 percent) and E Plus will be AED 1.71 per liter (an increase by 1.8 percent).
Diesel will cost AED 1.88 next month, an increase by 2.2 percent over last month.
Fuel prices in the UAE are set every month by a committee led by the ministry of energy, and are linked to global crude prices.
Brent crude, the benchmark for most exporters in the Middle East, closed at $52.52 per barrel on Friday.
