The United Arab Emirates has approved several infrastructure and development projects at a total cost of AED 1.2 billion ($327 million) across various emirates, state news agency WAM said on Sunday.
The decision comes in line with the directives of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The government also approved funding for the Sheikh Khalifa Central Hospital in Fujairah at a cost of AED 865.9 million, WAM said.
The hospital, which will operate with a capacity of up to 300 beds, will comprise 11 specialized departments, outpatient clinics and a 32-bed emergency ward.
Other infrastructure and road projects, which include the awarding of a new road project linking the Sheikh Khalifa Road from Maliha Road passing though Al Madam up to Al Shuwaib, were also approved at a total value of AED 323 million.
Under the initiative, a total funding of AED 12.4 million was directed to several internal roads and parking lots in residential complexes in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
