King Salman names new ministers, sets up national development fund

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Tuesday appointed Nabil bin Mohammad Ala'amoodi as transport minister, in place of Sulaiman Al-Hamdan, who will now move to head the civil services ministry, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

He also issued a decree to set up the National Development Fund, which will serve as an umbrella fund to supervise the Kingdom’s various funds for social, industrial, agricultural and human resource development. In addition, the new fund will also oversee any other development fund or bank that the Prime Minister would order to add.

The National Development Fund’s board of directors will be chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and will have no less than seven members to be appointed by the Prime Minister.

Other royal decrees appointed Sulaiman Abdulfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat as deputy minister of Hajj and Umrah, Saad bin Moqbil Almaimooni as governor of Taif, and Isam bin Hamad bin Ali Almubarak as governor of the real estate general commission.

Also, Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayadh was named as general executive supervisor of the general corporation of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
