King Salman vows to continue anti-corruption purge

Saudi monarch King Salman said on Tuesday that the Kingdom will continue to fight corruption and improve oversight of its public finances.

 

Directives were issued to all ministers and officials to enhance performance of government services, transparency levels and efficiency of spending, he added while announcing the 2018 state budget.

 

King Salman on Tuesday unveiled next year’s budget, which has prioritized Saudi citizen needs, with a strong focus on basic services, Argaam reported.

 

The Kingdom allocated SAR 192 billion for the education sector, SAR 147 billion and healthcare and social development services.

 

Meanwhile, as many as SAR 105 billion and SAR 53 billion were allocated for economic resources and municipal services, respectively.
