Jeddah-based Abdul Latif Jameel Energy's associate Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) has won a contract to build a 342 MW solar farm in Mexico, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The farm will generate energy to power 150,000 homes and seeks to reduce emissions by approximately 600,000 tons of CO2 per year. It is set to be functional by 2019.

Abdul Latif Jameel Energy also announced this week that it was awarded another contract to build a 540 GWh solar-wind project in Chile.
