Saudi Arabia posts SAR 46 bln trade surplus in April

Saudi Arabia's trade balance surplus increased to SAR 45.84 billion in April, compared to SAR 23.02 billion in the same month last year, official data of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.

The Kingdom’s trade balance recorded a surplus of SAR 4.8 billion, when compared to March.

Total exports grew by 32 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 88.5 billion in April, while imports saw a 3 percent YoY decline to SAR 42.7 billion.

Oil exports, which account for 68.9 percent of the Kingdom’s total exports, rose 33 percent YoY to SAR 68.9 billion in the same period. 

Non-oil exports increased by 26 percent YoY to SAR 19.6 billion.

China was the top exporter to Saudi Arabia in April, followed by the United States, United Arab Emirates, Germany and Japan.

The top ten exporters accounted for 66.5 percent of the Kingdom's total imports.

China was also the Kingdom’s top importer, followed by Japan, the US and South Korea.

The top ten importers accounted for 69 percent of the Kingdom's total exports.
