Saudi Arabia will continue to offer free education in the new schools, to be built under public private partnerships (PPP), the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday, citing Minister of Education Hamad Al-Sheikh.

 

“The Ministry of Education will continue to provide the educational and administrative cadres, as well as appropriate syllabus for students in the new schools,” Al-Sheikh said.

 

Last December, the Saudi cabinet approved an initiative to develop educational buildings with the participation of the private sector under the build-maintain-transfer (BMT) model, Argaam reported.

 

The government approved a maximum annual budget of SAR 400 million to build at least 120 schools across the Kingdom over 28 years.
