Saudi Arabia unveils new mining licensing platform

28/01/2019 Argaam

Saudi Minister of Energy, Khalid Al Falih, launched on Monday a new platform for issuing and renewing the mining licenses, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The new platform is expected to reduce the timing required to finalize the licensing process to seven days. It will comprise 20 e-services, however, only three are currently available, namely, online registration, online inquiries and license renewal, the statement said.

“An experimental geological database was launched to provide services for investors,” the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources added on its Twitter account.

The new platform coincided with the launch of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
