New report says people in Riyadh live better than in New York, Paris, London

Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh has been ranked ahead of cities such as New York, Paris, London, Moscow and others in terms of quality of life, according to a report by Deutsche Bank.

Riyadh ranks 26th in the list, compared to New York (ranked 31), Milan (35), Paris (36), London (41), and Hong Kong (44th). Cairo has been ranked 49th.

The 8th Deutsche Bank annual survey compares global prices and living standards from various countries and cities around the world, with a focus on 55 cities relevant to global financial markets.

In addition to Dubai, this year’s study added two additional cities from the MENA region: Riyadh and Cairo.

Residents in the city of Zurich are living better than anywhere else in the world, as the Swiss city topped the list with the highest quality of life. Wellington and Copenhagen ranked second and third respectively, followed by Edinburgh, Vienna, Helsinki, and Melbourne as the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh city respectively with high quality of life.

Boston, San Francisco and Sydney were ranked eighth, ninth and tenth, respectively.
