Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked Saudi Arabia's Abha airport on Sunday killing one person and injuring seven, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the Arab Coalition spokesperson.

“A terrorist attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia took place at Abha international airport, through which thousands of civilian passengers pass daily. A Syrian national died and seven civilians were wounded,” Arab coalition spokesperson Colonel Turki Almalki said.

Yemen’s foreign ministry also said in a statement that the recurring attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities are considered a “blatant violation” of international laws and norms including international humanitarian law.

Earlier this month, Iran-backed Houthi rebels targeted Saudi Arabia's Abha airport, injuring 26 civilian passengers.

The coalition has vowed to implement a strong response to deter these terrorist attacks, adding that “the attacks prove Iran’s support for cross-border terrorism.”
