Total cement sales drop 2% to 3.6M tons in March

Total sales of Saudi Arabia's 17 cement companies decreased by nearly 2% to 3.6 million tons in March, compared to 3.7 million tons in the same month last year, according to data issued by Yamama Cement Co.

A total of six companies reported higher domestic sales volumes in March, led by Arabian Cement Co. with a 26% year-on-year (YoY) uptick, followed by Al-Safwa Cement Co. (22% YoY rise).

On the other hand, 10 others witnessed lower domestic sales volumes. Umm Al-Qura Cement Co. came in first with an 36% YoY drop. Tabuk Cement Co. followed with a 34% YoY decline.

Meanwhile, Al-Jouf Cement Co. maintained its domestic sales unchanged at 102,000 tons for the same month.

Meanwhile, clinker production fell by 6.3% to 5.1 million tons in March, from 5.4 million tons a year earlier.

Total clinker inventory, on the other hand, reached 44.25 million tons in the same month, up 5.1% from 42.09 million tons in March 2024.
