L’Azurde posts 74% profit surge in H1 2019

L’Azurde For Jewelry Co.’s net profit after zakat and tax surged 73.8 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 74.12 million in the first half of 2019, the company said in a bourse statement.

The increase was due to a 37.5 percent rise in operating revenue, higher wholesale revenue, robust performance in Egypt unit, and a 42 percent leap YoY in gross profit.

Second-quarter earnings more than doubled YoY to SAR 12.15 million on a 43.1 percent rise in operating revenue.

The company also cited higher retail revenue on the consolidation of Tous brand and higher gross profit, despite higher operating expenses.

On a quarterly basis, net profit rose 1.6 percent, driven by a 13.2 percent increase YoY in operating revenue.
