US stocks end mixed, with Dow Jones gains alone
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.28% to 40,227 points at the close of the session, after gaining more than 2% last week.
The S&P 500 held steady at 5,528 points, while the Nasdaq Composite slipped slightly by 0.10% to 17,366 points.
This came alongside a 0.41% drop in the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF, tracks the "Magnificent Seven" tech stocks, ending the session at $46.30.
The Stoxx Europe 600 index gained 0.53% to 523 points, led by gains in the banking and travel sectors.
The UK’s FTSE 100 edged up by 2 points to 8,417. Similarly, Germany’s DAX rose 0.13% to 22,271, and France’s CAC 40 climbed 0.50% to 7,573.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.4% or 134 points to 35,839, while the broader Topix index added 0.85% to close at 2,650 points.
Brent crude futures for July delivery, the most actively traded contract, rose by 1.51%, or $1.01, to settle at $65.86 per barrel.
Meanwhile, US WTI crude futures for June delivery declined by 1.54%, or 97 cents, to $62.05 per barrel.
As for gold, June futures for the yellow metal fell by 1.5% to close at $3,347.70 per ounce.
