The value of contracts awarded in Saudi Arabia reached SAR 46 billion during the first quarter of 2022, a jump of 140% year-on-year (YoY), according to the data issued from the US-Saudi Business Council.

However, the contracts fell 35% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), from SAR 70.2 billion.

The Kingdom's macroeconomic scene continued to pick up, against the backdrop of the rebound in oil market, continued diversification, and expected acceleration in capital projects to support the local economy, said the report.

Amid the continued recovery in the construction sector after the pandemic, the Kingdom's economy is underpinned by several key economic factors that will enable it to expand in implementing the strategies of continued diversification.
