SASCO ordered to pay additional Zakat claims for 2014-2018

Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO) announced that the petition it submitted for reconsideration of the decision on its Zakat declarations for 2014-2018 was accepted in form and rejected in substance. Accordingly, SASCO was ordered to pay additional Zakat claims of SAR 12.3 million for that period. 

In a statement on Tadawul, SASCO expected this to be reflected on Q1 2023 financial statements, with only SAR 4.5 million, as a Zakat provision of SAR 7.8 million was previously recorded for this purpose. 

The company received, on Jan. 22, the General Secretariat of the Tax Committees’ (GSTC) decision on ordering the company to pay additional Zakat differences for 2014-2018, but SASCO appealed this decision, Argaam earlier reported.  

In December 2020, SASCO received letters from the Zakat authority requiring it to adjust its Zakat reports for the period from 2014 to 2018, and pay Zakat differences worth SAR 12.33 million.
