Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) launched trial operations of Khair Inorganic Chemical Industries Co. (InoChem) factory in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City on Nov. 10.

The trial run will continue until the testing of the plant equipment is complete and its efficiency confirmed, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The total cost of the project is estimated at about SAR 2.9 billion, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of Soda Ash and 350,000 tons of Calcium Chloride.

The financial impact will be calculated at the commercial start-up, the Saudi-listed firm noted, adding that any material development will be announced in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Spichem owns 30% of InoChem.
