Qiddiya signs deal to operate Six Flags, Aquarabia parks

Qiddiya Investment Co. (QIC)) signed an agreement with Six Flags Entertainment Corp. to manage and operate two world-class theme parks in Qiddiya City: Six Flags Qiddiya and Aquarabia.

Six Flags Qiddiya is set to open in late 2025, the company said in a statement released today, Feb. 10, by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Under the agreement, CEO Brian Machamer, who has overseen Six Flags Qiddiya and Aquarabia since 2019, will continue to lead both parks.

According to data available on Argaam, QIC launched in May 2024 Aquarabia, the first water theme park of its kind in Saudi Arabia and the largest in the region. The water theme park, the first to be locally constructed, will attract visitors worldwide, featuring 22 rides.

In 2019, QIC unveiled the designs of Six Flags Qiddiya as part of its plan to become Saudi Arabia’s entertainment, sports, and arts hub.

In 2021, it awarded a SAR 3.75 billion contract to France-based Bouygues Bâtiment International (a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction) and Saudi-based Almabani General Contractors Co. for the construction of Six Flags Qiddiya.

Covering 320,000 square meters, Six Flags Qiddiya will feature 28 rides and attractions across six themed zones: City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune, and Grand Exposition.
