City Cement appoints new chief executive

City Cement Company said on Thursday that it has named Saleh Al-Shabnan as its chief executive officer, effective next month.
 
Al-Shabnan takes the helm after former chief Ahmed Al-Abdullatif submitted his resignation on Wednesday from both the CEO and managing director positions, the company said in a filing to Tadawul, Saudi Arabia’s bourse. 
 
Al-Abdullatif's resignation will be effective on March 31, but he will continue as the vice chairman of the board of directors.
 
Al Shabnan comes with more than 30 years of experience in the industrial sector, the company added.
