Saudi agriculture minister Abdulrahman Al Fadley and Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO) inaugurated a flour mill in the kingdom’s Al Kharj region on Wednesday, which is set to produce 600 tons of wheat per day.
The facility, estimated to cost SAR 206.2 million, will supply flour and other wheat products to residents in the area.
The mill is able to store 200,000 tons of wheat, and accommodate 300 tons of flour per hour within its packaging station
SAGO has opened 12 integrated mills across the country since its launching 45 years ago, with a total storage capacity of 2.9 million tons and a production capacity of 13,000 tons per day.
