Dubai-based Emirates airline on Wednesday said it will receive its 100th A380 aircraft on November 3.
Emirates, which is currently one of the biggest customers for Airbus A380 planes, got its first A380 nine years ago, the airline said in a statement.
“The A380 has been, and continues to be hugely popular amongst our customers, many of whom deliberately plan their travel so that they can fly on it,” Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, said in the statement.
Clark said the airline it has been updating its services and facilities over the years, ranging from minor updates such as the addition of in-seat USB and HDMI ports, to bigger cabin overhauls.
Recently, Emirates launched a $15 million campaign to boost travel and promote Dubai, as well as its other global destinations.
In May, the Emirates Group has posted a profit of AED 2.5 billion ($670 million) for the financial year ending 31 March 2017, down 70 percent from last year’s profit.
