Saudi Aramco inks MoU to set up National Academy for Aviation Sciences

State-owned Saudi Aramco has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Economic Cities Authority, Saudi Aviation Club, Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Ministry of Education, Emaar The Economic City and Taqnia Aeronautics to establish the National Academy for Aviation Sciences.

 

The preliminary agreement, which includes the related terms, was signed on the sidelines of the Fourth Saudi Aviation Forum in Riyadh by Saudi Aramco’s vice-president for industrial services, Abdulhakim A. Al-Gouhi, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

 

The academy targets companies, government agencies and the private sector to Saudize aviation jobs in the Kingdom.

 

Under the feasibility study conducted for the project, the new academy will also help the local market provide 3,000 jobs in the aviation sector by 2030, with a training capacity of 1,450 pilots and maintenance technicians, Al-Gouhi said.
