Saudi municipal ministry approved two new petrol station firms

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has qualified two new companies Well and Reben to operate, manage and maintain petrol stations on roads across the Kingdom, bringing the total qualified fuel station operators in the Kingdom to 20 Saudi and GCC firms, Saudi Press agency (SPA) reported, citing a ministry statement.

The move, under the Masar program regulations, aims to promote a positive competition in order to provide high-quality services to the citizens.

Qualified firms to run petrol stations on highways in Saudi Arabia include Petromin, NAFT, ENOC, Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO), ADNOC, Fuel way, 7Plus, Oman Oil and Petrolat.

The firms run 133 oil and service stations on Saudi highways, while 77 stations are currently under construction, which will bring the total number of qualified petrol stations to 210 by the end of 2019.
