Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) said that a total of 145,000 subscribers have registered in the ‘9/10ths (Nine Tenths) program’, since its launch in Aug. 8, 2016.
The program aims to support entrepreneurship, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Under the program, several web platforms such as Tojjar, APPWEB, Forsa, Bahr, Kanaf, ATWAR, ZADD and EMADAD aim at changing the work culture through encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship and SMEs and enabling Saudis to create new innovative jobs.
The electronic services include an interactive guide to help startups see their projects through from idea to launch.
They also offer access to financing, apps to help entrepreneurs run, develop and operate their projects, apart from offering data to assist them make important decisions.
The services also provide an accelerator that helps entrepreneurs improve business ideas and bring them to fruition.
Tojjar platform serves home-based business owners and entrepreneurs, while Bahr platform targets independent business owners who want to hire freelancers to finish their projects efficiently.
Forsa allows them to bid on purchase orders offered by the program’s partners.
According to data compiled by Argaam, the 9/10ths program comes as part of Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, aiming to create and improve the work environment for SMEs, encourage entrepreneurship, generate jobs and create an attractive work environment for Saudi nationals.
