Saudi bank loans to public, private sectors hit SAR 1.52 trln in May

Saudi bank loans granted to the public and private sectors rose 3 percent by May-end to SAR 1.52 trillion compared to SAR 1.47 trillion a year earlier, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Private sector lending also edged up 3 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.474 trillion for the same month.

 

Meanwhile, the value of loans given to the public sector increased 10 percent YoY to SAR 50.2 billion in May.
