Saudi Arabia has ranked second among G20 countries for mobile frequency allocations following Japan in Q2 2019, the Kingdom’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said, citing a recent report.

Saudi Arabia, which moved up from the 20th place before spectrum allocations, has topped the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Canada, the report from Speed Test said.

The Kingdom has increased spectrum allocation from 260 megahertz (MHz) by the end of Q1 2017 to 1,110MHz in Q1 2019.

The mobile internet speed was also raised to 37.5 megabit/second in May 2019 from 9.2 megabit/second by the end of Q3 2017, CITC added.
