Saudi Arabia’s cabinet has approved allowing commercial businesses and shops to open 24 hours in return of a charge, to be determined by the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
This decision, which entails providing Saudis with products and services around the clock, will lead to raising the quality of life in Saudi cities and enhancing their competitiveness, as well as empowering the business and economic sectors, the ministry of municipal and rural affairs said.
Some businesses will be excluded from paying the ministry fees based on their nature, it added.
