The new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah is preparing to receive its first international flight soon, as part of its staged operational plan, Sabq newspaper reported.
The airport will kick-off operations with some Gulf destinations (with the exception of Dubai), followed by other low-capacity regional countries, it said, adding that more destinations to be added gradually.
Terminal one is currently accommodating domestic flights, as the airport is in the soft opening stage and semi-operating with limited gates.
According to data compiled by Argaam, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) had started in late May 2018 the trial run of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
