Saudi cement exports is expected to surge 100 percent to 8 million tons in 2019, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing sources at the National Cement Committee of the Council of Saudi Chambers.
“Saudi cement producers are competing to fulfill nearly 40 percent of demand in Bahrain,” the report said.
“The decline in cement stockpiles is attributed to higher exports and implementation of various projects, especially in the housing sector,” the sources said, expecting demand to grow by 12 percent in early 2020.
Cement and clinker exports of Saudi-listed firms hit 4.9 million tons in the first seven months of 2019, Argaam reported.
