More than 130,000 Saudi families have benefited from Sakani housing program over the first eight months of 2019, Minister of Housing, Majed Al Hogail said on his official account on Twitter.
“The Sakani program will provide more options to fulfill the needs of the families registered in the ministry’s lists,” Al Hogail added.
A total of 51,990 subsided mortgage loans were disbursed for beneficiaries to buy ready-made units; while 27,722 mortgage loans were disbursed to those who will build their own homes.
Meanwhile, a total of 20,818 housing loans were granted to those who will purchase under-construction units. Also, around 30,321 beneficiaries were handed free-of-cost land plots until August 2019.
“Sakani continues to provide various options for a total of 200,000 beneficiaries to raise the proportion of residential ownership to 60 percent in 2020 and 70 percent by 2030, in line with Saudi vision 2030,” Al Hogail stated.
