The Saudi education sector looks promising in the short-, mid-, and long-term on the back of three key aspects including population, growth of private education, and foreign investment, National Company for Education and Learning’s (NCLE) CEO Mohammed Al-Khurais, said.
Speaking to Argaam on the sidelines of Euromoney Saudi Arabia 2019, Al-Khurais said that the number of students in general education is set to grow from 6 million to 8.2 million by 2030, which requires 2.2 million seats or students.
He also stated that the Ministry of Education’s department for private education aims to boost the admission rate over the next few years from 15 percent to 25 percent, and stimulate growth in this domain.
“Foreign investment is positive and will further increase competitiveness and quality of the sector in the Kingdom, as the largest education firm in the country controls no more than 8 percent of the market share,” Al-Khurais said.
