Basic Chemical Industries Co. (BCI) signed a letter of intent (LOI) on Oct. 16 with Nasser Saeed Al Hajri & Partners Contracting Co. for the construction of its chlorine derivatives plant in Jubail Industrial City at a total cost of SAR 290.4 million.
The final contract will be signed within 60 days, BCI said in a bourse statement, adding that the project’s general contractor will begin the related groundworks.
In October 2016, BCI reached a final agreement with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu to allocate 200,000 square meters (sqm) of land for the company’s future projects in the city, Argaam reported.
BCI said it would use some of the land to set up a chlorine derivatives project at an estimated cost of SAR 520 million.
In May 2018, BCI awarded a supervision contract to WorlyParsons Arabia Limited for its chlorine derivatives project in Jubail Industrial City
