The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) has awarded a contract for a time-lapse photography system to document the construction progress at its mega tourism project site.
After a competitive tender, the contract was awarded to EarthCam for the provision of a turnkey solution covering 13 different locations including onshore and offshore locations around the destination site, it said in a statement.
“Time-lapse videos and photographs are essential to tell the story of the construction development, provide project documentation and remotely monitor and archive construction progress at the destination,” John Pagano, CEO at TRSDC, said.
As per the deal, EarthCam will deploy the latest advanced technology, to create a completely independent system at each location.
These systems will enable remote viewing on PC and smart phone, providing live video footage in addition to image updates every 30 minutes, it stated.
"Filming will cover the full duration of the construction of each asset, starting prior to commencement, to capture and share the full development process with our investors, operators and other interested parties," TRSDC Chief Project Delivery Officer, Ian Williamson, said.
"The footage obtained will also help us ensure our worksite safety standards are being maintained," he stated.
EarthCam will provide monthly time lapse video for each of the islands under development for the first phase of the project, along with inland construction at our airport, Southern Dunes and Desert Rock resorts, management and construction villages, and at the crossing to the hub island.
