Saudi Arabia’s energy-sector manufacturing activities will boost growth in the coming decade and create jobs for highly-skilled Saudis in the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector, according to a recent GE survey.
A majority of the survey participants (74 percent) said that energy-sector manufacturing need to be an economic priority for the Kingdom.
Energy-sector manufacturing entails all industrial activities pertinent to the energy value-chain.
In addition, 59 percent of respondents believed jobs created in the energy-sector manufacturing will go primarily to Saudi nationals, which will have a positive impact on Saudization.
“We see manufacturing more than as a contributor to the Saudi economic engine; we see it as a powerful platform to support achieving the wider goals of the Kingdom,” the report concluded.
