India’s Apollo Tyres Ltd announced its entry into Saudi Arabia through a partnership with Al-Jomaih Tyres Company, it said in a statement on Sunday.

The company is targeting to sell 800,000 tires per year in the truck-bus radial and passenger car segment, said Shubhro Ghosh, group head, ASEAN, Middle East & Africa, Apollo.

Al-Jomaih Tyres CEO, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jomaih, said that the premium tier 2 market in the Kingdom is expanding at a fast pace and customers are seeking quality products at competitive prices.

The tires sold in the Kingdom will be customized to meet local market requirements, the statement noted.

In 2011, Apollo established its regional hub for the Middle East and Africa in Dubai.
