SMEs, micro firms’ credit facilities rise 8% in Q3 2019

Credit facilities extended to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and micro businesses jumped 8% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 115.6 billion in Q3 2019, data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Banks accounted for SAR 106.86 billion worth of credit facilities, or 92% of total financing. Facilities given by financing institutions stood at SAR 8.75 billion, or 8% of total credit facilities.

SMEs accounted for 76%, or SAR 80.84 billion of banks' facilities, with micro firms holding SAR 22.97 billion in the third quarter of the year.
