Saudi POS transactions rise 30% in November 2019

Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia rose by 30% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 25.85 billion in November 2019, according to recent data from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

 

Data showed that a total of 170.3 million transactions were processed, up 73% YoY, through nearly 431,200 points-of-sales in shopping malls, retail stores, and pharmacies.

Cash withdrawals slightly went down to SAR 59.56 billion in November, when compared to SAR 59.62 billion in the same period a year earlier. Cash withdrawals were through 175.6 million transactions processed across 18,840 ATMs in November 2019.
