Labor Minister issues decree to localize activities, professions in Hail

Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmad Al Rajhi, issued a ministerial decree in partnership with the Emirate of Hail province, to localize a number of activities and professions, at rates ranging between 50% and 100%.

 

The decree will come into effect within 90 days, as it is based on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the emirate, the ministry, and the Supreme Committee’s recommendations of the localization program in the region.

 

The ministry’s official spokesman, Khaled Aba Al-Khail, said in a statement on Thursday that the decree includes:

 

- Determining the localization rates for all targeted activities

 

- Clarifying the professions excluded from the decision

 

- Considering the gradual application at rates ranging between 50% and 100%

 

According to the decree, the localization rate of advertising agencies and idle vehicle relocation for institutions will not be less than 50%, while it will be 70% for the service offices related to real estate, insurance, public services, and recruitment, as well as travel and tourism agencies.

 

It will also have 100% localization rate for the closed commercial centers such as malls, mobile vehicles, non-profit organizations and development committees, cashier profession in commercial outlets exceeding 200 square meters, and idle vehicle relocation for individuals.

 

The decree stresses the necessity of committing to previous decisions related to the inclusion of women in the workforce and their working conditions according to the rules and regulations, Al-Khail indicated.
