Jeddah Metro Co. completed locating expropriation and relocation services as all engineering and architectural designs were finished, CEO Osama Ibrahim Abdu told Okaz newspaper.
“Around 30% of the designs are done, and all documents for contracts are ready,” Abdu said.
“The project’s first phase consists of 770 buses, followed by a train network,” he further added.
The Jeddah Metro project is expected to offer approximately 89,000 vacancies, and reduce 3 million trips per day by private vehicles.
The CEO also said that the project will save up to SAR 16 billion from the cost of travel time and reduce more than 349 million liters of fuel compensation annually.
