Saudi Arabia remained among Dubai’s top six source markets last year for tourists with 1.6 million Saudis visiting the emirate, according to the latest data released by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism).
The report further noted that the number of Saudi visitors to Dubai in 2019 remained almost the same as in 2018.
Holidays on the occasion of the 89th Saudi National Day set new records in the number of Saudi visitors’ arrival in Dubai.
The number of Saudi visitors rose by 36% during this occasion compared to the corresponding period a year earlier, the report also said.
Overall, Dubai witnessed a 5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in the total number of visitors in 2019, to reach 16.7 million visitors.
India once again retained its top market status, drawing the highest visitation of tourists in Dubai, followed by Saudi Arabia, the UK, Oman, China and Russia.
