Saudi capital Riyadh ranked among the world’s 20 most dynamic cities, according to a new report by advisory firm JLL.
JLL’s City Momentum Index 2020 report identifies the world’s most dynamic cities from a real estate perspective.
Ranking at the 18th spot making its debut in the top 20 list, Riyadh is benefitting from Saudi Vision 2030’s program of economic reforms, as well as its objective of diversifying the economy away from oil, the report said.
“Initiatives to improve the quality of life through better infrastructure and entertainment in combination with regulations to expand tourism will continue to have a positive impact on the economy and real estate market,” it further noted.
JLL report added that the scheduled opening of Riyadh metro network in 2020-2021 is expected to transform the city’s mobility.
Dubai and Nairobi from the Middle East and Africa region also made it to the list, ranking at the 14th and 4th places, respectively.
Globally, the report highlighted a continued shift in global influence from west to east, with Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese cities dominating the top positions led by the two Indian cities, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
