NEOM to reveal master plan in 2 months, says CEO

NEOM megacity project’s master plan will be revealed in the next 2 months, with the scheduled phases of construction, the Saudi Press Agency reported, citing the project’s chief executive officer Nadhmi Al-Nasr.

“The initial phases of the project execution will focus on infrastructure development,” Al-Nasr said, adding that Saudis and the whole world will start seeing NEOM’s parameters on the ground in 3 to 5 years.

“ The year 2020 will witness the beginning of the actual momentum of NEOM projects,” the top official noted.

NEOM has already developed the main strategic plans related to the implementation phase and it is set to begin construction in various areas of the project this year, Al-Nasr concluded.

In October 2017, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of the entertainment city backed by more than $500 billion over the coming years by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Public Investment Fund, as well as well as local and international investors.

Last year, NEOM Founding Board approved NEOM Bay’s masterplan - the first urban area to be developed in the mega project.
