Saudi construction sector dependent on government spending: official

Government spending is a key driver for the growth of the construction sector in Saudi Arabia, Al Watan newspaper reported, citing the secretary general of the Saudi Contractors Authority, Thabit bin Mubarak Al Suwaid.

 

Speaking during the press conference to announce the Future Projects Forum in Riyadh, Al Suwaid said that the Kingdom's economy has been growing in line with Vision 2030, which will positively impact the construction sector.

 

He further explained that the Kingdom is supporting the sector through providing new opportunities and ratifying necessary legislations and regulations, noting that this will enhance competitiveness.
