The Retail Leaders Circle Summit MENA Region (RLC MENA) kicks off today Feb. 10 in Riyadh in partnership with “Invest Saudi Initiative” and under the sponsorship of Minister of Commerce and Investment, Majid Al Qasabi.

Sponsored by Argaam, the 2-day summit titled “The future of the retail and consumption sector: prosperity in a variable environment" brings together over 1,500 retail leaders, brand owners, small and medium-sized companies, sector’s policy makers and investors.

The initiative focuses on a set of key issues that aim to address the changing scene of retail and consumption in the Kingdom and the region in general, through a number of panels, workshops, and strategic dialogue sessions.

The RLC MENA is a platform for experts and decision-makers to discuss the merits of the regional retail and come up with best practices to stimulate growth by proposing creative ideas and targeted entrepreneurial strategies.

The summit, which is held for the first time in Saudi Arabia, also highlights the Kingdom’s plans aiming to top business, investment and retail trade destinations, in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s goals represented in diversifying the economy and facilitating business as a priority, in addition to attracting foreign direct value-added investments.

Hosting the RLC MENA in the Kingdom comes in conjunction with its chairmanship of the G20 summit. Choosing Riyadh to host this leading event in the retail sector is a result of Saudi Arabia’s great economic mobility.

The partnership with "Invest Saudi" falls within Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority’s (SAGIA) efforts to attract prominent international and regional events that bring together pioneers and decision-makers in the business world.

Saudi Arabia ranked 7th globally in retail trade according to the 2019 Global Retail Development Index, which list the top 30 emerging countries in terms of investment in the retail sector worldwide, where the classification depends on the analysis of 25 specific variables of the macro economy and retail.
