Saudi Aramco expected the Fadhili gas plant to increase the Kingdom’s sales gas supplies to 12.2 billion standard cubic feet per day (SCFD) next year.

The plant is also forecast to boost gas processing capacity by 2 billion SCFD of crude gas from Hasbah field and by 500 million from Khursaniyah field, the giant oil producer said on its website.

Fadhili processes a total of 2.5 billion SCFD of crude gas and supplies the national gas grid with 1.57 billion SCFD of sales gas. It also supplies 470 million SCFD of gas to the Fadhili co-generation power plant.

Fadhili gas plant will be Saudi Aramco’s first-of-its-kind facility to process non-associated gas from onshore and offshore fields, the statement added.

Elsewhere, Amin Nasser expected the plant to raise the processing capacity of the Saudi main gas grid to 18 billion SCFD from 15.5 billion SCFD.

Environmentally, Fadhili plant is also designed for maximum sulfur recovery of 99.9%, Nasser added.
