The Mediterranean and Gulf Cooperative Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (MedGulf) set up a new medical claims department within the company and will cease to use third-party claim management services, it said in a statement to Argaam.
The department is a part of MedGulf’s plan to restructure its business and aims to boost its competitiveness, provide superior services, and localize insurance services in the Kingdom.
The new medical claims department will help to raise operational efficiency through automation, reduce operating expenses and improve performance of insurance policies.
Omar Al Mahmoud, chief operating officer (COO), MedGulf, said that the claims department will include several sections such as VIP customer service and critical cases that will enhance the quality and efficiency of services.
He added that the new management aims to develop its relationship with diverse accredited hospitals in the Kingdom, especially after raising the company’s presence in more than 30 hospitals, and improve processing of claims.
